It has begun

I had a job interview this morning for a job with a local credit union. I won't know until Friday if I get a second interview. But after I returned home I started reading Twilight , finally.
I did nothing else today and it was great. Luckily I didn't have too much that needed to be done, just random cleaning. That will all have to wait until I'm done with the book now!!! This book is really great even though I've already seen the movie and know what's coming. The book is much more detailed and interesting. The movie come to DVD in March and I ready to get it and show Jonathan how good it is and that I'm not crazy!! I can't wait to finish this book and read the other three in the saga!!
It's strange that I'm so excited about reading this book. I used to hate reading. Now I love it and only in the past few years have really started to enjoy it as a hobby and something to do in free time. Except for times like now, Jonathan is playing his guitar and according to him, "It only sounds good LOUD!!!"

We made Valentine's Day reservations yesterday!! I am very excited. We are going to a restaurant in Durango, CO we went to over Christmas. It is Mutu's Italian Kitchen. The food is amazing! I can't wait to get beautified and celebrate my first Valentine's Day with my husband. It should be a fun day.

The past week

has been filled with lots of fun for Jonathan and me. We've been spending a lot of time with our friends. We went shooting last weekend. Jonathan has been wanting to go for a while but we didn't know where we could go out here. We went with three good friends of ours. Our friends, Erin, Curt and Scott. Erin and I shot some, she had never held a gun before that day, so she wasn't that interested. She and I went climbing on the rocks and caves around where the guys where shooting. We sat on top of a big ledge for most of the time watching, talking and soaking up the sun.

Jonathan started his latest rotation Monday. He likes the work, but he's in a different building and with people that aren't that fun to work with. We are waiting to see if he will be "stuck" there or if he will get to go somewhere else. As of now, we know nothing.

Next week at some point we plan to go back to Durango for sushi again. Next week is Erin's birthday, so we're going to go celebrate with sushi again.

I'm very happy to have met Erin. She and I are really similar, in almost every way. Same attitudes, ideas, hobbies, etc. Also Erin's fiance Curt and Jonathan are really similar. We have a lot of fun together and since we get along so well we spend a lot of our free time together.

I haven't started reading Twilight yet. I bought it, but can't get in the mood to start reading yet. SOON!

I finally heard back about the job interviews I had and didn't get the jobs. I'm still looking, but everyone I talk to isn't hiring because of the economy or has nothing available. Hopefully I'll find the perfect fit soon.

All differences aside

yesterday was a day for the history books in many ways. No matter the political differences that are present I believe President Obama is a good man. I love seeing his relationship with his wife and daughters. But I do believe he has a lot to prove in other aspects and am anxious to see what will happen over the next few years.

I was glued to Fox News all day. I didn't want to do anything else or change the channel. This election and inauguration was not the first I have participated in, but it was the first one I was old enough to know and care about everything that was going on. There were moments yesterday that I got chills from the events on TV. I was excited to watch all of the events of the day.

I'm ready

I have been reading a book I got around Christmas almost non-stop lately. I hadn't read a lot of it at a time up until this week. It's called The Reader. I really enjoyed the book and the movie is out right now. I can't wait to get a chance to see it come to life. It's a different book than what I expected, but really entertaining. If you want more info. let me know!

I'm really excited because now, I can go buy Twilight and start reading the series. From what I understand, once I start I won't be able to put the books down. After seeing the movie I can see how they are addictive!! I'm excited. If I don't go get it tonight, I'm heading to the store in the morning for sure!

Today is Jonathan's birthday. He has spent the evening enjoying some Wii video games. It's rare he gets to enjoy them without me being bored and wanting to watch something else. But I had to finish my book tonight and it's his birthday.

I'm still waiting to hear about a job. I've talked with them and they are just moving paperwork slowly after the long break. It's frustrating, but I'm waiting.

Jonathan and I really want to go ski/snowboard again soon. It is kind of expensive since we have to rent all the equipment on top of lift tickets so we can't go as much as we would like. If I get a job, I have a feeling we'll be going to eat sushi and ski to celebrate. I've also been wanting sushi for every meal since we had it over the weekend. I also tried some Plum Wine. AWESOME!! It's really sweet, but the perfect drink to have with sushi in my opinion!!!

I had to post some pictures of my blue topza pendant from Jonathan!! We got it in Durango, CO this past weekend! It goes great with a necklace I got from my in-laws this Christmas!!

Up close

Really close!!

A blurry picture but it shows my sparkling necklace really well!!

I think I could get used to having things like this!! :) Jonathan never should have gotten me that big jewelry box. It's (slowly) on its way to being full!!!

Once again

The Sooners got to the big game and left empty handed. Although OU lost, I was happy to see that they played well. It was a fight the entire game. Both Florida and Oklahoma are great teams and it was a good game.

Jonathan and I had about seven friends over to have dinner and watch the game. We had some SEC fans and OU/Big 12 fans there so it was a good time.

Jonathan's birthday is Wednesday, Jan. 14th. I'm trying to decide what I want to do for him. I know at some point next week we're going to Durango, CO for Jonathan's birthday and have sushi. He's been looking forward to this for a while, so that's a must. He loves sushi!!

We are taking care of three dogs for our friends that are on vacation for 2 weeks. We don't have them at our house, but we're going over in the mornings and evenings to feed, let out, etc. They know I love dogs, so they asked if we'd take care of them instead of putting them in a kennel for that long. I'm excited to get to play with their dogs whenever I want basically for two weeks!!

I went to see the movie Twilight with a girlfriend, Erin, of mine this week. I didn't know much about it but thought it sounded good. Erin has read all of the books so she really wanted to see it. I am now officially obsessed with it. I am currently trying to read a book I just started as fast as possible so I can go get the Twilight series and read them all!! It's definately a "girly" series. I mean a girl falling in love with a vampire who doesn't eat people!! Yeah, it sounds ridiculous, but it's really good!! :) I'll stop talking about it or I'll go on forever. I'm really excited about these books!!

After the movie Erin and I went to the mall and I finally got a pair of boots. I've been needing a new pair all winter so I am very happy to have them. If they are comfy after a while I'm going to go get the boots in black too!! :)

I was hoping to have a job by now, but the two I'm waiting to hear from with San Juan College are still in the "paperwork process" so no decision yet. I don't know how long this will take but for now I'm still waiting.

Woke up with 3-4 inches of snow!!

Jonathan and I woke up this morning to 3-4 inches of snow....again! We didn't even know we were supposed to be getting any, so it was a big shot. Here are some pics from our back window. I haven't wanted to go outside and take pictures today!! :) Too cold!

Ski Trip

Jonathan and I went skiing today for the first time this season! We went to Hesperus, CO to a small ski area there. ( http://www.ski-hesperus.com/ ) We went with another couple that we've become great friends with, Curt & Erin. Erin and I took ski lessons and Jonathan got to try snowboarding for the first time. He had a lesson as well. Curt's a pro so he went and explored the mountain while we all had lessons.

It was snowing all day while we were skiing so visibility was almost non-existent, which made it a little harder. We couldn't see the hills very well until we were there and either slowed down as fast as we could or were slowed down by the incline!

It was a lot of fun!! I can't wait to have a chance to try it out again.
