Job

I official have a new job title and start date.

I will be the Proposal Cooridnator / Cost Estimator Trainee.

I will "start" July 27th. And hopefully have the office by then. They can't decide where they are going to put us.

Short & Sweet

Harry Potter was awesome!! I loved it and wish I could buy it already and watch it again already. We only had to wait in line for about 45min. and got great seats.

Family will be in town tomorrow night. It should be a great trip with them until Wednesday.

Saturday we will be getting ready for their visit. I have to wash the pup so she isn't stinky when she meets her family!! :)

I'll take lots of pics and post them as soon as I can.

Fun times

We were busy over the weekend and had a lot of fun.

Friday night we had a friend over to hang out. Andrew Soon. He is a new hire at Jonathan office and we've been hanging out a lot lately. Daphne loves his and they are fun to watch together. He is about 6'5-7" about 300lb. That may help you understand why they are so funny to watch together.

Saturday, we went to the COP pool party. It was a lot of fun as usual. I was in the pool most of the afternoon which was great. I laid out with my friend Erin while the volleyball game was going on and forgot to sunscreen my legs. They got a little red, and hurt Sunday, but went away very fast.

During the pool party we decided we wanted to have a BBQ at our place that night. We invited about 8 people to come eat. Afterwards we played a game and had some other new hires and friends over. We had about 13 people in our living room around our coffee table. We need more chairs, and maybe a bigger coffee table to do that again!!! :) It was a lot of fun.

Sunday, about 20 people floated the Animas River. I was going to go but didn't want to since I was already sunburnt. Jonathan went and had a lot of fun. Sounds like everyone got bad sunburns, Jonathan included, so I'm glad I didn't go. I would have been crisper! :) We will be planning another trip so I can go this summer.

Tonight, we going straight to the mall restaurant after work for burgers with friends then across the hall in the mall to watch the new Harry Potter movie. It doesn't start until 6:40 but we plan on waiting in line for about an hour to get good seats. I LOVE the movies and hope to read the books soon. I am very, very excited to see the movie tonight. I've been looking forward to it for a while.

Saturday, some of my family is coming to town. My mom, sis, niece and grandmother will be in Saturday night and leave Wednesday morning. It should be a fun time showing them around the area and spending time with them.

At work, new receptionists have been interviewed and a decision should be made by Friday or Monday. Once the new person starts I'll help train them for a week or two then I'll get to start my new job. They are waiting for corporate approval in writing. They have approval but want it in writing for their records, then we're good to go. I went out with my new supervisor to our shop last week so start learning about motors, rotors, generators, etc. I feel like I need through Jonathan college Physics books. Its a lot to learn, but my supervisor, Paul, knows this and has been patient with me learning. I'm very happy and excited about what's coming up for me at work.

Lately

We have been taking it easy. We had some friends over for a last minute BBQ the other night, but we've been really mellow lately, for us! :) Of course, we did paint our guest room but for us, not doing something most nights is mellow.

Monday night Jonathan played Ultimate Frisbee (a.k.a. Frisbee football) again. During the game he had a big collision with a teammate going for the Frisbee and was pretty sore afterwards.

Tonight Jonathan is going out to play volleyball while I have a girlfriend over the plan a bridal shower for our friend Erin that is coming up soon. It isn't for 3 weeks, but she and I are both busy between now and then, so we need to plan most of it, or at least get our ideas together.

This weekend we have another pool party and Jonathan may float the river Sunday. I told him I would not be doing that because I know I would FRY and am not going to put myself in that situation.

Fun Times!!

Another House Project

We went shopping for a breakfast table and/or wall art but couldn't find anything we liked. I am ready to get the house looking the way I want it so Jonathan suggested getting some painting done.

We decided to paint our guest room about 4pm Saturday afternoon. It was ugly, navy and puke green walls, they had to go! Since we're having some family visit in 2 weeks we decided that room would be great to fix up a little.
The paint the was on the wall was ugly, but was peeling off. We peeled a wall and about 1/4 of another wall before we decided to try and prime it and see what happened. I'm glad we did, otherwise, we'd still be peeling that paint off.

Sunday, we primed the whole room in the morning and painted it all after lunch. It looks really great now. Ready for visitors!! We haven't got the bed moved back in yet, but here is the "finished" project.

Bright and light! We're very happy with the finished product!

Job Update

I will no longer be the Sales & Marketing Assistant. That was given to another person within our office. A new position was opened up for me. I will be doing Cost/Quote Estimations for all of our projects. There is already this position, but he is needing some help, so that will be me. This position will be much more exciting and interesting for me. I am VERY EXCITED!

The oppourtunities this postion will open for me could be endless. I will be working with all the management teams in our office and in our corporate office for the Americas. It could be a stressful job at times, but also very rewarding. For example, I could be the person to propose a bid on a project to a customer, win it, and get millions for our company with any given project. This new position is very indepth and will take me at least 1 year to learn everything.

I will be going through an extensive training period which will include some night time "classes" where I will be learning the ins and outs of our business and more than I ever wanted to know about generators.

More details as I get them! :)

Bath Time for Daphne

After Daphne decided to shred some of our firewood, eat and kill some plants and play in her water bowl it was definately bath time. She does not like baths or the torture we put her through afterwards! :)
Before she got dirt outside.
After bathtime!
