at 2am this morning. Yep, 2AM!! Jonathan likes to leave at that time so we don't "waste" an entire day driving. This was we will get in OKC around 1pm. Jonathan enjoys driving and doesn't mind me sleeping a lot of the trip. I just take over for a few hours while the sun comes up.
We are both excited to see some family and be in OK again.

Why are weekends so short
We decided Saturday morning we wanted to go for a drive to Silverton, CO and see what trails were open and how much snow was left. We had a great day. We were able to drive around quite a bit considering there was about 10 feet of snow in snow areas. This is a picture of a stop on the highway between Durango and Silverton. Usually there is a large parking lot, trails, a look out spot and restrooms. This is what we saw when we pulled up, thinking we would go to the look out and get some nice pictures.

Jonathan found that out the hard way in one area. The snow was packed really firm, walking on it you didn't sink in at all. Jonathan got a little too comfortable on it and stepped in one spot and feel in up to his waist. After I recovered from laughing I realized he was soaked from the waist down and got some heat going in the truck. That was a priceless site!!!
We did get some beautiful shots. I've added some of my favorites below.

We are thinking we will use some of our favorite travel pics in one or both of our guestrooms in the new house for our walls. Maybe even showing the four seasons on each wall if we have enough of each.
We will be able to start moving into our new house on the weekend of May 15th. We can't wait. We're already started packing up winter clothes and things we don't use reguarly.
I can't believe it is almost May already. We're two weeks away from being back in OK for a few days. Also, a month away from our 1 year wedding anniversary and moving to NM. That really seems impossible. It sounds corny, but time does flies!!! I can't wait to see family and friends again soon.

New or Build?
We are house hunting!
We've seen a few houses, driven by LOTS and are almost to be decision point. We are trying to decide whether we want to buy a new(er) house or build one. Building would be a little more, but we'd get exactly what we want. Not decisions yet, but soon! I'd say within the next two weeks we will have started paperwork to buy or build. We are VERY excited!!!
There are two houses we've looked at and narrowed our search down to. We like them both, but we don't like one or two aspects of each, that's why we are considering building and getting just want we want, and not something we don't.
I found out I am approved for all of my days off for our OK trips in May and June. We'll be back and can't wait in a few weeks.

I'm ready for summer.
This morning I woke up to a snowy day. We had a nice weekend with weather in 60s. I was looking forward to some warm weather to stay. Luckily it is sunny and the snow is melting now pretty quickly.
Jonathan and I have decided we will be camping about every other weekend this summer, as long as we don't have other things to do. Hopefully we'll have some family out for the 4th of July or throughout the summer that can join us at some point.
Jonathan and I will hope we will find a new place to move into either this week or early next week. We want to find a house (not half a house :) ) in a better neighborhood. We feel good about us finding something better than where we are.
I made a quick trip to Durango yesterday with my friend Erin. We went to a organic food store and got some sushi grade tuna and salmon and then came back and made about 16 roles of sushi for the four of us sushi lovers. I also stopped by Pier 1 while in Durango and got us two sushi sets that included, plates, sauce cups, chop sticks, stick holders and placemats. They are really pretty, and I can't wait to get to use them more.

Today was my first day
at my new job. It went well. It was a busy day, but that made it go by fast. It's a good job. Not something I would want to do forever, but great for a few years until we move or plans change. I have really nice and fun co-workers.
We went on a shopping spree this weekend. We went to Albuquerque Friday afternoon and got us both some much needed new clothes and some great hiking boots. They are Asolo brand from Romania. So comfy!! We can't wait to use them when it warms up.
The weather has been amazing lately. We've both been wearing shorts and summer clothes. Today is got cold again. I had ice on my windows and the high was 52 degrees. We had just enough warm weather to make Jonathan's allergies start up, then it left. I hope he doesn't suffer too much once the weather makes up his mind.
We've decided we aren't going to the wedding in May we originally planned to attend. We will still be in OK, but just visiting with family and not making another trip while we are there. We are excited to see everyone again, and can't wait for our visit. Although it will be really short, it will be a lot of fun!! :)
I hope my in-laws have a Happy Anniversary on Saturday!!

Weddings and Showers
Jonathan and I went looking for bargains and getting an idea of what we want to get for all the weddings and showers we have starting in May. We ended up getting a few things that were on sale. We both decided it was fun getting stuff at our wedding, but buying isn't as fun!! Just kidding, I enjoy buying stuff, Jonathan, not so much.
Jonathan borrowed an amp from a friend that's double his size. This means double the volume!!
:( Wow, that's loud!! But he's having fun, so I can't complain too much.
I've got a phone interview tomorrow afternoon with an office associated with San Juan Regional Hospital. Hopefully it will go okay. Never had a phone interview before.
We spent today being pretty lazy. I baked a lot! I made a chicken pot pie from scratch for lunch then made bread pudding this afternoon with some leftover french bread. Jonathan doesn't like bread pudding so he made no-bake cookies that I don't like. We're both going to be on a sugar high all week eating our desserts. But it will be yummy!!!
I'm thinking about other books to start reading. I like romantic fiction usually. I was thinking about reading two different things but can't decide on which. Possibly a book called, The Host, by Stephanie Meyers, the Twilight series author or reading all the Jane Austen books. I've seen many of the movies about her books, but never read them. I'm open to suggestion on any other books that are good.
