I'm ready for summer.

This morning I woke up to a snowy day. We had a nice weekend with weather in 60s. I was looking forward to some warm weather to stay. Luckily it is sunny and the snow is melting now pretty quickly.

Jonathan and I have decided we will be camping about every other weekend this summer, as long as we don't have other things to do. Hopefully we'll have some family out for the 4th of July or throughout the summer that can join us at some point.

Jonathan and I will hope we will find a new place to move into either this week or early next week. We want to find a house (not half a house :) ) in a better neighborhood. We feel good about us finding something better than where we are.

I made a quick trip to Durango yesterday with my friend Erin. We went to a organic food store and got some sushi grade tuna and salmon and then came back and made about 16 roles of sushi for the four of us sushi lovers. I also stopped by Pier 1 while in Durango and got us two sushi sets that included, plates, sauce cups, chop sticks, stick holders and placemats. They are really pretty, and I can't wait to get to use them more.

Today was my first day

at my new job. It went well. It was a busy day, but that made it go by fast. It's a good job. Not something I would want to do forever, but great for a few years until we move or plans change. I have really nice and fun co-workers.

We went on a shopping spree this weekend. We went to Albuquerque Friday afternoon and got us both some much needed new clothes and some great hiking boots. They are Asolo brand from Romania. So comfy!! We can't wait to use them when it warms up.

The weather has been amazing lately. We've both been wearing shorts and summer clothes. Today is got cold again. I had ice on my windows and the high was 52 degrees. We had just enough warm weather to make Jonathan's allergies start up, then it left. I hope he doesn't suffer too much once the weather makes up his mind.

We've decided we aren't going to the wedding in May we originally planned to attend. We will still be in OK, but just visiting with family and not making another trip while we are there. We are excited to see everyone again, and can't wait for our visit. Although it will be really short, it will be a lot of fun!! :)

I hope my in-laws have a Happy Anniversary on Saturday!!

Weddings and Showers

Jonathan and I went looking for bargains and getting an idea of what we want to get for all the weddings and showers we have starting in May. We ended up getting a few things that were on sale. We both decided it was fun getting stuff at our wedding, but buying isn't as fun!! Just kidding, I enjoy buying stuff, Jonathan, not so much.

Jonathan borrowed an amp from a friend that's double his size. This means double the volume!!
:( Wow, that's loud!! But he's having fun, so I can't complain too much.

I've got a phone interview tomorrow afternoon with an office associated with San Juan Regional Hospital. Hopefully it will go okay. Never had a phone interview before.

We spent today being pretty lazy. I baked a lot! I made a chicken pot pie from scratch for lunch then made bread pudding this afternoon with some leftover french bread. Jonathan doesn't like bread pudding so he made no-bake cookies that I don't like. We're both going to be on a sugar high all week eating our desserts. But it will be yummy!!!

I'm thinking about other books to start reading. I like romantic fiction usually. I was thinking about reading two different things but can't decide on which. Possibly a book called, The Host, by Stephanie Meyers, the Twilight series author or reading all the Jane Austen books. I've seen many of the movies about her books, but never read them. I'm open to suggestion on any other books that are good.

Random Things

We made our first sushi rolls the other night. They all turned out great, but we made WAY too much for just the two of us. We still have some ingredients to make more soon. Yum!! :) This is all the sushi we made for ourselves. These are all California rolls. (Crab, and avacado. We added cucumber too)

Today, we decided we would go for a drive and see the four corners. We were also taking a picture of Jonathan's truck to submit to Ford for a chance to win a new camera and have our photo in the Ford magazine that's sent to all customers. This is the picture we sent in.

After we took the picture at Shiprock we went driving to find the Four Corners Monument. It was a beautiful drive, but when we arrived at the entrance, at 5:07 pm, there was a sign that said it closed at 5pm. We didn't know it even had hours. That was kinda irritating, but we'll try again sometime. This is a great picture of the drive near there.

Holidays

I know it's SUPER early to be talking about the holidays but I needed to let my friend Amanda know for bridesmaid dress trying-on for her wedding May 2010.
Jonathan and I have decided to come to OK for Thanksgiving again this year. We will decide specific dates closer to time. We thought it would be easier to see all the families and be easier to travel all over OK during November.
We would LOVE LOVE LOVE family to spend Christmas in Farmington with us. By that point we'll have a bigger house hopefully and it could be a lot of fun! At least think about it.

News

Jonathan still has a job!! Yay! He found out this afternoon that he will not be let go from COP. We never thought he would be, but the possibility was always there. There will be some changes in the near future but no word on what exactly will be happening and when. We think he is just going to be placed in a permanent spot and end his grad. rotations early.

I'm heading to Durango tomorrow with my friend Erin again. We're going to do more wedding stuff and get all her vendors in line for their wedding in August. This also means, sushi!! Erin actual made sushi at her place yesterday and it turned out great!! She's going to teach me soon. If I can make it, this is going to a great skill. She made about $30-40 worth of sushi for $7.

This is Erin & Curt so you have faces to reference to when I'm talking about them. :)

I found out yesterday I am officially a bridemaid for my friend Amanda's (my bridemaid and college roomie) wedding May 1, 2010. Looks like 2010 is going to be like summer 09. Weddings back to back. It will be fun to be apart of the day.

Angel Peak

We went exploring at Angel Peak this afternoon. I've posted a link to the photos from there. It's really cool. It's like a mini-grand canyon in some spots.

Angel Peak National Recreation Area

At 6,988 feet, Angel Peak is only a minor summit, rising just a little way above the high desert plains of northwest New Mexico, and sits in the middle of a rolling expanse of pastel-colored badlands, cliffs and dry washes,

Not much has changed

since the last post.

I enjoyed a Girl's Night with some ladies who work for COP and COP wives this past Friday. We're going to start a monthly Girl's Night so we can get together and enjoy ourselves at someone's house. I had a GREAT time with them and enjoyed getting to know the girls better. I've been watching Grey's Anatomy with my friend Erin every Thursday since she and I both follow the show. Now we're found more girls who watch it so we'll get extra girls night every week it's on. I've made great friends since we've been here.

We are beginning to think about where we want to move to in May/June when our lease is up. We're still trying to find a rental but a house that gives us more space. Renting here is strange and hard to come by but we'll find something we're sure.

I've become frustrated with my job search. I can't seem to find anyone in Farmington that wants to hire anyone with a college education. It is really irritating. I know and Jonathan keeps reminding me that the right job will come when it is time. But the process is still frustrating.

I am going to Durango tomorrow with my friend Erin. She's getting married in August in Durango and we're going to go check out some vendors together. It will be a lot of fun. Of course we'll have a sushi lunch!! :)

I finished reading the Twilight books I've been reading since January. I finished book four this afternoon. I'm sad it's over. It was such a great story but its a good thing I'm done for Jonathan's sake. I know he's tired of me reading and telling him about it. I did pre-order the movie this weekend. It comes out March 21 and I should get it in the mail then. He knows he's going to have to watch it with me. I think he will enjoy it if he allows himself to. There is plenty of action to keep his interest.

We're been planning our trips back to OK in May & June. They will be short trips but good to see some family and friends. We're planning a longer trip back to OK around Thanksgiving or Christmas again this year. We haven't decided which we will be coming back for yet.

The weather has been beautiful the past week or so in Farmington. Today it is in the 70s. We've been trying to be outside a lot and enjoy it while it lasts. It supposed to get chilly again this weekend.
