I have been seriously slacking on my updates lately. We have had an extremely busy summer and it's not over yet. Pretty soon things will slow down again.
We had a great visit from my mom, sis, niece and grandmother a few weeks back. They were here for 4 days. It was fun to show them where we live and the things we like to do. I took lots of pictures and will post them soon. The video of Addison dancing to Jonathan playing guitar that I posted a few posts back is from that trip.
I have started my new job. Currently, I am still waiting on new office furniture to arrive so I am sitting him the office of the guy training me. Once the furniture gets here he and I will move into a large office and split it. It should work out well. I'm excited about my job so far. I do have a lot to learn, but the basics of what I will be doing I understand. But gaining the in-depth knowledge of generators and motors that I'm lacking on currently. I'm slowing catching on. My supv. has started a class two night a weeks for a few of us in the office. I have found them very helpful so far.
We taught Daphne to shake recently. She's pretty smart and got it after 4-5 tries. We are trying to train her to stop whining and waking us up so early, but that's not going so well. She's getting better. If she gets in enough trouble she'll learn. :) It might help if I didn't fold so easy. She's only 4 months so she's doing great for being so young.
We are going camping next weekend, Aug. 14-16 in Silverton, CO. It should be a good sized group. About 8-10 people. We'll go hiking and ride some trails through the mountains.
Last weekend my friend Laurelin and I hosted a bridal shower for our friend Erin at our house. We had a great time playing games and had lots of good food. A new hire at COP, Andrew, helped my make the cake for the shower. It was delicious!! I will make it again for sure. It was chocolate cake with layers of fresh whipped cream and rasperry jam. The icing was homemade with choc. chips and sour cream. I tasted professional! He is very popular with the ladies from the shower now! :) Too bad they were all married! haha.
I have been helping Erin plan her wedding and will be the "go-to" person on the wedding day, Aug. 29th. I'll handle all the problem that may occur so Erin doesn't have to know about them. It should be a fun day.
Jonathan and I are trying to get our house fixed up some more before we have more family visiting in September and October. We want to get the paint in the house done by then, but we'll see. I want to fix out backyard but it's too late to lay new sod. We'll just have to deal with the nasty yard until next spring.
