We had a great trip to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. We were able to have a relaxing trip and see lots of family and friends at the same time. It was nice to have plenty of time to see everyone and not have to rush from place to place.
While in Oklahoma we had a friend watching Daphne. We got a few calls about the amazing things she was doing while bored at home. We had the hall blocked off with the bedroom doors closed. She had the hall and the guest bath to herself, so she could walk around and play still. About the third day she must have gotten pretty bored and found out how to open our office door. Our friend, James, called to let us know what she had destroyed! She just ate a few of MY books and nothing else. Luckily that was it and she left all of Jonathan’s guitar equipment and the computer alone. She also decided to take all of the dirt out of one of our flower pots outside one day. They no longer had any flowers in them so that wasn’t a big deal.
We haven’t slowed down since returning. Jonathan has been snowboarding and enjoying the local and college rates they do at the beginning of the season around here. I went with him to Wolf Creek in Pagosa Springs, CO last weekend. I had the intentions of skiing but decided not to when we got there and the wind basically made it like a white out most of the day. I knew I would enjoy that so I didn’t purchase a lift ticket, Instead I sat in the lodge and read and talked to some friends off and on that were there as well. I got some videos of the snow blowing and Jonathan boarding down the mountain that I will try and figure out how to post soon. I’m very impressed watching Jonathan snowboard. Everyone talks about how hard it is to learn and he seems like a natural. I should be too surprised though, it is Jonathan!
I have joined a book club with some of my friends in Farmington. We plan on meeting once a month starting in the end of January. The first book we are reading is “The Secret Life of Bees”. I have seen the movie but never read the book. It's a great movie, I definately recommend it, but keep the tissue box handy. I am excited to get started on it. We are thinking about picking books that have been made into movies to start out. I’m excited, it should be a good time.
We have a friend living with us for about another week. Out of nowhere his wife told him she wants a divorce, so he’s living with us until he can move back home. He’ll be moving next weekend then be back with us after Christmas until mid-January or so. It’s been a crazy experience for us. I’ve never been “a part” of a divorce and so this is a new experience for me! Daphne is enjoying his dog, Hershey a chocolate lab, but Hershey can’t walk well on our wood floors so she spends a lot of time in the garage or outside if it’s nice. She’s a sweet old dog.
Jonathan and have finally got our Christmas card pictures taken and mailed. I was going crazy not sending them out, I like to get them out as soon as possible after Dec. 1st. We took a LOT of pictures with Daphne and most are not good, but pretty funny. I will post some soon.
We have the Conoco Christmas Party this Saturday night. It should be a good time. I got a new cocktail dress for the occasion!
We will be in NM this Christmas and have decided to treat ourselves. We have planned a day of relaxation in Durango for Christmas Eve. Starting I have a doctor’s appt. at 9am in Durango, then we’ll head to the Trimble Hot Springs to soak in the springs. http://www.trimblehotsprings.com/ At 1 we will each get a 90 minute massage. (I can’t wait!!!) Then we will be able to soak more in the springs if we want to. We have a 5pm dinner reservation at Cosmopolitan Restaurant in downtown Durango for dinner. It should be a wonderful day. http://www.cosmodurango.com/
We will be making a Christmas meal on the 25th for ourselves and whatever friends might be in town that wants to join us. I have been sneaking around ordering Jonathan’s Christmas gifts online the past week. Jonathan loves to stare at his gifts until he figures out what would be in the size/shaped box. This year I’m not letting that happen if I can help it. I’ve ordered from generic websites so he won’t know what I got from there or had some help ordering from Mom. The packages are scheduled to arrive this afternoon, and since Jonathan gets home from work before me I’ve warned him to leave them alone! I hope he does.

Another week...
Jonathan and I had a good visit with my parents over the weekend. We saw some snow in Colorado and had good food in Durango and from Jonathan!
Sunday after dropping them off at the airport we tried to catch some snowboard sales but it was too early and the stores were still closed.
We got back to Farmington and called up a friend that was interested in buying our couches for her new house. And, we SOLD our couch and loveseat!!! We were so happy to get them our of our garage. We were inspired and cleaned out the garage. I took all of our garage sale boxes to Goodwill and Jonathan went to Lowes and got some wood and brackets. We now have everything off the floor in the garage except for the big stuff, and the ping pong table. Once winter comes we will take apart the table and have room for both vehicles. I can't wait. No scrapping snow for us this year!! (Just shoveling the driveway).
Pictures to come soon of all the latest.
