We had a very busy summer and are just beginning to slow down and take some time to relax.
After our friends wedding in late August we have finished up prepping our backyard for sod in the spring. Jonathan has been fishing quite a few times and went snagging the past weekend for the first time this season.
Jonathan also got himself a PlayStation 3 the other day, so that’s been taking up a lot of his time! J
We are getting Daphne under more control lately. She’s starting to listen to us more when we try and get her to calm down, sit, etc. We are still deciding on whether or not we want to bring her to Oklahoma at Thanksgiving. We want to bring her, but aren’t sure yet about whether she can handle all the new people without getting TOO excited!
We had a great visit with Robert and Lisa for a week in August. It was good to get to spend an entire week with them. We spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying each others company. Lisa and I had a fun trip to Santa Fe where we did some shopping and gallery visiting! Jonathan and Robert had a fishing tournament between the two of them at Navajo Dam. The were able to catch about 25 trout in 3 days. And Jonathan won the Iron Wood Championship! We have a nice trophy in our living room to show off to our guests now!
My parents will be in town Thursday night for the weekend. We are looking forward to their visit and showing them the beautiful fall colors in Colorado. It will be a good time.
We are both really looking forward to our trip back to Oklahoma next month. It seems like we’ll have a long visit, but we’re already “booking” are days in different places. Jonathan wants to squeeze in time to get a deer to bring the meat back with us. I hope he does. I would love to have some deer meat and jerky in our freezer. I will also be trying on bridesmaid dresses for a friends wedding next spring and heading to Shawnee for my sisters baby shower.
We have big plans for Halloween this year. This is the first year we are actually getting into dressing up. Our costumes, especially Jonathan’s are going to be hilarious! Jonathan dressed up in his and I just about died from laughing. We both love the movie Anchorman, so Jonathan got a $5 suit at the thrift store, wig and mustache and he will be the lead character Ron Burgundy. He’s a anchorman from the 70s. I will be the anchorwoman, Veronica Corningstone, as long as I can find an outfit. Picture will be posted, no worries!!
