We have had a busy past couple of months.
The movers came and packed up our house.
We loaded Daphne on and airplane and all made it to Anchorage. We all made it safe and sound to Anchorage.
We have gotten settled into our temporary apartment while our house is being built. It is coming along quickly. The dry wall should be completed by the end of this week if all goes according to plan.
We've spent some time taking in the scenery near by while the weather is still nice. The snow is already falling on the mountain tops outside of town so it won't be long before it comes to Anchorage.
This is the city from the Flattop trailhead south of town.
This was a beautiful and clear day. We could even see Mt. McKinley in the distance it was so clear.
We took a short drive to Girdwood, AK Saturday. There are 7 glaciers surround the town. It was rainy and cloudy so we couldn't see most of them. We took a short walk instead down a trail just outside of town.

After a week in Anchorage we have a house in the works! Our goal is accomplished. I head out in a few hours back to Farmington for 2 weeks. Jonathan leaves Tuesday for a few days at the North Slope before back to Farmington for the move.
We looked at about 10-15 houses the first day in Anchorage. Monday we went to Eagle River, a small "suburb" that is part of Anchorage but about 10 minutes North. Tuesday we look around at some house a second time and then decided on a new construction in Eagle River. We put in an offer and it was accepted by the builders. We have spent Friday and Saturday going to suppliers and picking out all of the finishes for the house.
With all of that we had little time left to see the area. We did take a drive one evening to Beluga Bay right outside of town. It's is pretty beautiful!!!

Jonathan's new office has one of the best views in town of the inlet.
He is on the second floor from the top. The COP building is the tallest in town.

Good Morning!!! We had a wonderful breakfast this morning and thought we'd share.
We will be spending some time today preparing the house to put on the market soon. We hope to talk with a realtor and get pictures taken next week, but who knows when that will happen.
We may make it up to Durango tonight for a movie and some souvenir shopping if the day goes according to plan.

Crafts
I decided to make some crafts I've been wanting to do for a while since Jonathan is out hiking today. I think they turned out nice. :)

We headed to South Fork, CO the weekend before our 4th Anniversary. We found a great cabin/RV/tent resort by the river and booked a cabin. We loaded up Daphne and were off Friday after work.
The cabin was GREAT! It had a stocked kitchen, fireplace, great view and patio, and a private hot tub!! That was the selling feature. There is nothing better than climbing a mountain and coming back to a hot tub while it's raining and thundering outside.
We had a great weekend and will definitely be returning there at some point.
View from our cabin patio.
Beautiful cloudy afternoon
