Latest...

The yard is getting there. We got a small Green Japanese Maple and planted it in the flower bed on the left and the grass is filling in. We fought the wind all afternoon, but it looks great.
Daphne will no longer be jumping the fence...without a shock that is, so the grass should come in great now. In other news, Jonathan's summer intern will arrive in town Friday. She is a freshman at OU. He's excited.
He had a great trip to Houston and we're both glad he's back home.
My scrapbook is coming along great. Only the finishing touches remaining. I got burnt out after a week long push to make progress so I'll kick it up again soon and finish it up.
We're going camping this weekend. First time with the new camper, and first of the year. Hoping for nice weather in Colorado.

Jonathan is off to Houston for the week. I'm planning on scrapbooking most evenings this week and making some progress. It's getting there slowing. The major work is almost done, then starts the fun decorating and embellishments.

Hoping all OK family it surviving all the crazy weather it seems like Oklahoma is having. I'll take a dust storm any day over hail and tornadoes.

Yard Progress

The grass is finally coming in. We're blocked the pup from the yard and it's amazing how well it will grow without constant digging and running on it.

It seems like the busy summer is beginning a bit early for us. At least it feels that way.

Last weekend I was in Oklahoma for my friends Amanda and Adam’s wedding in Norman. I tried to fly in on Thursday morning, but didn’t make it until the afternoon. My 6 am flight was cancelled so I sat around the Durango airport for 6 hours and made it to Oklahoma in time to meet the bridal party at an OKC salon to get our nails done and have dinner. Friday I was able to go to Tulsa and see my wonderful in-laws. We had a great visit and lunch. Later that night I headed to Norman for the wedding rehearsal and dinner. After making it back to OKC I spent some great time with Granny Lou and then off to bed for the wedding Saturday. I met my parents, sis and nieces for the morning and then the wedding festivities began after lunch. It was a busy afternoon, but the wedding was beautiful and fun. I made back to OKC late that night and got up very early to catch my flight back to Durango. I had a much better experience flying back, my first flight arrived 35 minutes early so I was able to catch another flight to Durango that wasn’t full and arrived home 2 hours before expected Sunday morning. I spelt most of the afternoon Sunday tried to fight off the beginnings of a cold.

I had another book club meeting last night. We discussed “Water for Elephants”. It wasn’t a favorite of mine but discussing it always makes me appreciate things about the books that I didn’t think about before. Our next book is, “The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie”. I downloaded it to my IPod last night. Once I finish the current Harry Potter book I am reading I will get into that one. It should be a fun read.

Jonathan and I are ready to go camping. We’re thinking about Memorial weekend, but we’ll see how things go. Jonathan will be in Houston May 16-23 for a presentation/training course conclusion.

Golfing

Jonathan got a new driver tonight. He's been to play golf a few times already since the weather got nice. And I will be taking my first golf lesson tomorrow night. We'll see if I like it, if so, we'll be buying me some club real soon and Jonathan will have a new golfing partner.

I'll let you know how it goes. Should be interesting considering the most I'm played it put-put and it has been a LONG while since then.

Backyard Bar Remodel Project

Before

After

We put lights under the lip of the tile top. It looks really nice at night.
Jonathan did a wonderful job. I did the grouting on the top and helped stain, but he did all the rest by himself. He's VERY talented as you can see.
We're ready for a BBQ!
